- 50% decrease in cesarean births
- 25% decrease in length of labor
- 40% decrease in the use of oxytocin
- 30% decrease in the use of pain medications
- 40% decrease in the use of forceps
- 60% decrease in the use of epidurals
- Increase in the father/partner participation with confidence
In addition, long-term benefits of labor support included:
- Increased success in breastfeeding
- Decreased postpartum depression
- Greater maternal satisfaction
- Better Mother-Infant interaction
